Indulge in Low-glycemic Meals

Low-carb diet have become a fad in the recent times. Just about everyone is raving about being on a low glycemic diet and consequently, losing weight.

In reality, most of us don’t realize that carbs are just as important for our bodies as proteins and even small amounts of healthy fats!

When it comes to restricting carbs from our diet, the most reasonable approach is to eliminate refined carbohydrates and simple sugars such as those found in white bread, pasta, white sugar, maple syrup and even honey!

These simple sugars, when consumed, lead to a sugar spike in our bodies and subsequently an increase in insulin secretion. This insulin secretion, in turn, decreases the release of HGH in our bodies which we definitely don’t want.

So in order to increase HGH secretion, it is advised that we avoid refined carbohydrates and simple sugars and stick to low glycemic foods such as fresh fruit juices, dried fruit, nuts, legumes and vegetables without starch!

Try Intermittent Fasting, Once a Week!

Just like being on a low carb diet has been a fad, intermittent fasting took the fitness world by a storm.

There are different versions of this diet but the most commonly recommended version is the one where you take ‘time-off’ from eating for at least 16 hours in a day.

This may seem a lot but the benefits outweigh the long hours. It has been shown that fasting actually induces growth hormone release in the body.

This growth hormone, in turn, mobilizes the fat stores in our body to be utilized as a source of fuel!
